  • Perhaps our leaders should look at our economic base when it comes to manufacturing. Big business has exported our manufacturing needs to the cheapest suppliers around the world. This has lowered consumer prices to a point but at a high price.

  • The comment about Social Security benefits check must be returned to Social Security has been changed. A person who gets Social Security retirement benefits now has their first benefits check held back for a month.

  • The Department of Veterans Affairs is a huge organization. By it's very size mistakes have to happen. Place this against the twentyfive million veterans and it's size shrinks greatly. You will find veterans that think the DVA has treated them fairly and many others that feel just the opposite.

  • Lets see. The feds bailout wall street with billions of dollars and appears to plan to bailout gm and chrysler with billions of dollars. The next step might be helping out the oil companies with a few billion dollars. Even if they are far from any financial hardship or facing bankruptcy.

  • Being a vietnam era veteran  I have experienced the VA  health care system first hand as well as waiting a long period for a disability rating. The system is in need for a serious overhaul which doesn't seem to be happening.

  • As I recall the switch from analog tv to digital tv was to make space for emergency services. For consumers this will be an expensive change over. Then the FCC put these frequencies up for public sale to be shared with emergency services. I can't see where anybody wins on this deal.

  • To succeed. All everyone has to to is become a financial institution. Jobs are not going to suddenly become available, high interest rates in 30% range on credit cards are not going to drop. Former students over their heads in debt with student loans will get no relief.

  • Senior citizens have an advantage that younger people do not have. That is a vast amount of knowledge and experience. The idea that some is over the hill just doesn't wash. This nations seniors have the capacity to make improvements in their neighborhood and in government.
